Flexible Tuition

Deadlines

All families requesting flexible tuition must submit an application through FACTS Grant and Aid Assessment. If you are a returning family, please make note of the correct year for your application.

  • December 1, 2023 FACTS applications for flexible tuition open for all families

  • December 23, 2023 FACTS applications with supporting documentation for returning families due

  • January 25, 2024 Kindergarten through eighth grade FACTS applications with supporting documentation due for new families

Flexible Tuition Document Checklist

In order for your flexible tuition application to be processed, please submit the following:

  • The FACTS Grant and Aid Assessment Application available here.

  • A copy of your 2022 filed income tax return and W-2 forms (or other relevant tax documents)

  • Supporting tax return schedules

  • Explanatory letter or statement in support of your application

    • Example: 1099 forms, social security, welfare, food stamps, unemployment, child support, workers compensation, veteran benefits, rental income, etc.

Please note: If your previous financial situation no longer reflects your current situation, contact Ezra Academy’s business office after submitting your FACTS application. If you have questions or need help filling out the application, you can speak with a FACTS Customer Care Representative at 1-866-315-9262.

  • This is advantageous for our families because it eliminates estimating income and tax information before taxes are filed, and enables families to submit a FACTS application as early as December of the year before attending school.

  • More than half of our families qualify for Ezra Academy’s need-based flexible tuition. Flexible tuition is generally calculated as the difference between what it costs a student to attend Ezra and what a family can afford to pay. There is no “income cutoff” and the Tuition Committee reviews each application carefully and anonymously to determine whether a family will qualify. We encourage you to begin the admissions application process and apply for flexible tution at the same time.

  • Please contact our office staff at businessoffice@ezraacademyct.org

  • Returning families and sibling applicants must submit the following documentation by December 23rd. New applicants must submit the documentation by January 25th.

    • The FACTS Grant and Aid Assessment Application https://online.factsmgt.com/signin/3JNL0

    • A copy of your 2022 filed income *tax return and W-2 forms (or other relevant tax documents)

    • Supporting tax return schedules

    • Explanatory letter or statement in support of your application

    • Example: 1099 forms, social security, welfare, food stamps, unemployment, child support, workers compensation, veteran benefits, rental income, etc.

  • Yes, all parents/legal guardians must complete a FACTS application and submit the requested tax documentation. The Tuition Committee calculates need based upon both parents and their spouse’s ability to contribute to the child’s education.

  • Flexible tuition is awarded in a single year; families are asked to complete the FACTS application and provide supporting documentation each year. Assuming a family’s circumstances remain unchanged, every effort will be made to continue supporting that family at a level consistent with the prior year. If a family’s financial situation improves, the annual award will be adjusted to reflect the positive gain. If a parent loses his/her job, the annual award will be adjusted to reflect the loss of income. Please notify the Business Office of any gains or losses in income.

More ways to save

K-8 Family Referral Incentive

We will apply a $1,000 tuition discount to your 2024-25 bill when a new family enrolls a Kindergarten through 8th Grade student and indicates that you referred them. Refer as many friends as possible, but note that each family can only receive one $1,000 discount.

New students must name one family as their referring family when submitting their application. In the event that a family was referred by more than one current family, the discount will be split accordingly. The offer is not retroactive and does not apply to new students who have already applied for the 2023-24 school year. We thank you in advance for participating in this program and hope to grant many discounts next year!

The Ezra Open Tent Scholarship Program

Our Open Tent Scholarship Program honors those who work in our Jewish community and benefits their children and grandchildren. Open Tent Scholarships are available to families not currently at Ezra Academy, with children in grades K-8, who have at least one parent or grandparent working for a recognized Jewish communal agency in our state. Thanks to generous donors, Ezra Academy will provide scholarships for 50% of full tuition to children who otherwise meet admissions criteria, depending on space available in each grade. If financial circumstances warrant, families can still be eligible for tuition rates below 50% under our Flexible Tuition program.
