This Week in Kochavim, Sept. 30

In reading this week we started our unit on folktales. The children learned what a folktale is. They listened to the story Lon Po Po.  After reading the story the children determined the good characters, evil characters, and the important events in the beginning, middle, and end.  They also determined the lesson or message that the author wanted them to learn about life.  Over the next couple weeks the children will be listening to and reading folktales from diverse cultures.

Our students participated in Tashlich on Thursday. The 7th and 8th graders put together a ceremony specifically for our class and the students "threw their mistakes away" as part of this ceremony.

In music class this week, we had theory game day and played an original rendition of “Candyland” music style! We had a fun performance from Audra on the drums and Riley on the electric guitar!
