Today we woke up at 4:30, way too early. At about 5:45, we got on the bus and drove up to the Masada half asleep. Once we all arrived at the Masada, all of us slowly made our way up the steep stairs in 102 degrees. At the top, we all saw a huge panoramic view of the magnificent, tan mountains. The scenery and warm air kept us calm and comfortable while we all took it in. After we learned about the synagogues and the history of the Masada, we then hiked back down and sat to eat breakfast.
After breakfast, we drove to the place we all had been waiting for. The Dead Sea’s atmosphere smelled like sulfur, its waters were clear green with blue spots and warm mud. The salt burned our legs causing us to run out of the water, luckily some of us did not mind. The water felt refreshing and smoothed our skin when we washed the mud off of our bodies. After the Dead Sea, we all enjoyed a big lunch and went on the bus for a two-hour ride to Mashabai Sade. All of us caught up on our sleep and when we arrived at the kibbutz we were all ready to start/continue our exciting journey.
