12 May

The day started off with a special Yom Haatzmaut Tfillah. Zara, Eve, and Sydney all read Torah beautifully. After a big breakfast, we packed our bags because we were departing the amazing Kibbutz Ashdot Yaakov. We put on our bathing suits and headed for a very wet day!

First we went to Kfar Blum, to enjoy some rafting under the hot sun. We rafted on the Jordan River, which was very nice and peaceful, with some few rapids. A few of us “accidentally,” fell off, or were “accidentally” pushed. No one stayed dry! We enjoyed Israeli pizza for lunch, and then we got on our way to our next water activity!

Our next activity was a water hike. We walked along the Daliyot River, which is a fresh water nature preserve, and the surroundings were beautiful; there were colorful flowers, tall and strong trees, interesting animals, and freezing water. It was very fun and rocky! We all were holding each other’s hands for stability! While in the water, we splashed each other and played a few games!

Once we were all dry again, we got in the bus for a long ride to the long-awaited Jerusalem. We took some pictures in front of the city, and after a long day, drove to our hotel, where Ofir, last year’s emissary, was waiting for us! It was very fun seeing her again, and hearing all about her life! We got all settled, and had some dinner. We played some games to get to know each other a little better, such as, speed friendship dating, and human bingo. It was a Yom Haatzmaut to remember!

Tomorrow, before Shabbat, we will call home.

Because we need to observe Shabbat, we will not be blogging until Sunday! Stay tuned!

Laila Tov!

The rafting looked amazing and lots of fun. Da5lloks like one of the kids that accidentally fell ( or got pushed) other of one of the rafts.
Have a great time in Jerusalem. It is one of the places I remember the most from my trip 35 years ago. David I hope you still have the note I gave you to put into the wall for me. Miss you. Enjoy and have a great time.
Look forward to talking to you.

Wow! What a day! We made ice cream sandwiches, played blue against white soccer, ate felafel. played matkot and chamesh avanim. We had a fun, ruach filled day and the 7th grade stood in well for you in the leadership arena.
Have an amazing Shabbat in Jerusalem. Someone eat a schwarma for me. Don’t forget the charif!
