We started off the morning with an early wake up at 5:45! Though sleepy, Ari, David, and Eran led Shacharit to start off the morning. Then after breakfast, we jumped on the bus, heading to Tzfat. Ariel, our tour guide, showed us all of the bullet holes in the walls and told us about the battle over Tzfat between the Muslims and the Jews, and as we know today, the Jews won. We then walked through the streets and even stopped by an old synagogue from the 16th century! After finishing our hike through Tzfat we went to a candle workshop, which are all handmade. However, for some of us, the best part was gift shopping for Kippot, T-shirts, and more! After we finished purchasing various items, we headed to Banias, where we saw a natural waterfall. We then restored our energy with sandwiches from the kibbutz and ice cream! Then we got back on the bus to Mount Bental where Syria attempted to invade Israel in 1973. It was one of the biggest tank battles ever.
We drove back to the kibbutz to rest before heading out to celebrate Yom Ha’atzmaut in Tveria (Tiberius). It was amazing! Eve said that the American should learn from the Israelis how to party!
Due to a full day of activities, dancing, and other excitement we will stop writing and go to sleep. Tomorrow is water hiking AND rafting followed by a 3 hours ride to Jerusalem.
